Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Spenso handles information when you use the expense tracker app, website, and related services.

Updated

Welcome to Spenso (“Spenso”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Spenso expense tracker app, website, APIs, beta builds, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By using Spenso, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Expense Information

Spenso is built to help you record expenses quickly. Depending on how you use the app, expense records may include:

  • Amounts, currencies, dates, categories, tags, and notes
  • The text you enter to create an expense
  • Transcripts or parsed text from dictated expense entries
  • Draft or failed expense prompts used to finish processing your entry

Do not enter sensitive information unless it is necessary for your own expense record.

Account and Device Information

If the Service uses accounts, beta access, or cloud features, we may collect:

  • User identifiers needed to operate the Service
  • Email address or beta tester contact information
  • App version, device type, operating system, and locale
  • Settings, preferences, and usage limits

Voice and Text Processing

When you dictate an expense or ask Spenso to parse an expense note, the app may send audio, text, or related request metadata to Spenso servers so the entry can be transcribed or converted into structured expense data.

We use this information only to provide the requested feature, troubleshoot failures, prevent abuse, and measure usage.

Usage, Diagnostics, and Logs

We may collect limited technical information such as:

  • Request timestamps
  • Error messages and diagnostic events
  • API usage counts, text request counts, voice request counts, and processing duration
  • IP address and basic network metadata processed by hosting and security providers
