Small changes. Better flow.

You can now give Spenso a receipt or invoice instead of typing out the details. Scan it with your camera, pick a photo or PDF, or send it to Spenso from another app using the share menu.

Spenso reads the document and prepares expense drafts. You can check the amounts, fix anything it missed, and decide what to save. The source document stays with the saved expenses, so it’s there when you need to look something up. Reading documents uses Spenso AI and needs an internet connection.

I also reworked the introduction with examples you can try, including a sample receipt and invoice. Nothing from those demos is added to your expense history.

There are a few less visible improvements too: clearer progress while a document is being read, better handling of interrupted imports, and fixes to make sharing files into Spenso more reliable.

Expenses can now keep the context that matters. Attach photos and PDFs while adding or editing an expense, preview them without leaving Spenso, and keep more than one attachment when a single receipt is not enough.

The rest of Spenso feels sharper too. Overview, Settings, and Full Access have been refreshed, while quick capture now gives clearer feedback and moves more smoothly from your input to an AI-assisted result. Under-the-hood improvements make expense processing and purchase access more reliable.

Full Access now includes a lifetime option alongside the existing subscriptions, so you can choose a one-time purchase if that suits you better.

This release keeps photos and PDFs with their expenses, but it does not read those attachments to fill expense details yet. AI parsing for images, receipts, and documents is the next step on the roadmap.

Spenso now feels at home in more places. Alongside English, the whole app is now available in Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, and Italian. Spenso follows your device language automatically, or you can choose the language you prefer in Settings.

I also fixed a collection of bugs and smoothed out a few rough edges, so recording and organizing your expenses feels more reliable in every language.

Spenso now works with Siri. Say “Hey Siri, record an expense in Spenso” to add one expense or several, then confirm, review, or discard the result before anything is saved.

Monthly totals are more useful when you can follow them down to the details. You can now open any category in Overview to see every expense behind that total for the selected month, with dates close at hand and editing just a tap away.

Tags also have a proper home in Settings. Each space gets its own searchable collection, where you can add, rename, and remove tags without hunting through individual expenses. If a tag is already in use, Spenso clearly explains what will be affected before deleting it.

Quick capture feels calmer, too. Spenso keeps the activity indicator in the submit button while it checks your input, and only opens the processing screen when server AI is actually needed. Locally understood expenses move straight to review.

You should always know what is happening after you send an expense. Quick capture now keeps your words in view while Spenso works, then gently makes room for the result when it is ready to review.

If something gets in the way, the same sheet explains what happened and gives you a clear next step. Your original input stays close at hand, so a weak connection or an uncertain result does not mean starting over.

Quick capture should save time, not turn a small misunderstanding into cleanup. This update gives you a chance to check what Spenso understood, make any changes, and then save with confidence.

I also rebuilt the subscriber sign-in and account experience, so it is clearer what you have access to and where to manage it.

Quick capture is only quick when the result is right. I’ve taught Spenso more of the names people actually use for everyday places, and made the fallback behaviour less surprising when it is not quite sure.

• Added more restaurants, coffee shops, grocers, transport, and everyday merchants
• Recognized more local names, spelling variations, and non-English text
• Made uncertain category guesses predictable and easy to correct
• Tucked long tag lists behind a small “more” count so they are easier to scan
• Added tests for more of the odd category cases

I don’t want you to keep teaching Spenso the same thing. When you organize an expense, the app now remembers a little more of that choice and can reuse it when a similar purchase turns up later.

• Tidied up the built-in categories and tags
• Made editing categories and choosing tags less fiddly

If something goes wrong, you should be able to tell me what happened and get on with your day. Spenso now adds the boring technical details to your message automatically, so I have a better chance of finding the problem without asking you five follow-up questions.
